Description:
Set in the middle of the jungle between the national borders of Brazil and Argentina, these falls are an incredible sight to experience. Taller than Niagara Falls and much wider, the 269 feet high falls are the result of a volcanic eruption. The water through-put is so powerful that there is a constant haze of mist arising from the thunderous crashing of the water. Rainbows are a constant in this marvelous world wonder. Two thirds of the falls are on the Argentine side of the river, but they can best be seen from the Brazilian side; especially the Devil’s Throat, a section of the falls which impresses mightily. You can also tour the Iguazú National Park where there are jungle trails and bird hikes. You will need a full day in the park to fully enjoy the wildlife flora and fauna. (December thru February may be hotter than ideal to go to this destination but the rest of the year should be ok)
